Customer Service Representative

Role Summary:

The Customer Service Representative is accountable for providing a high level of service to all customers, acting as the single point of contact on behalf of the company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Enter orders and monitor the progress of in-transit loads
  • Respond to events requiring attention to ensure loads are delivered on-time and claim free
  • Provide customers with tracking and tracing updates
  • Respond to customer enquiries
  • Rate customer invoices and ensure all charges are captured
  • Schedule (book, rebook, cancel) pickup and delivery appointment times
  • Notify customers of pending detention charges and request authorization for charges once detention is complete
  • Liaise with the Sales Department, Operations and/or Pricing Department to ensure customers are provided with service that meets or exceed their expectations

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service role 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Experience and/or training in conflict resolution
  • Superior communication skills
  • Ability to act with flexibility to changing situations and requirements
  • Positive and professional attitude and etiquette
  • Familiar with governmental legislation and regulations as it pertains to transportation
  • Experience using AS400, Transportation Management systems and/or ICC system will be considered an asset
