Leading the Way since 1955

H&R Transport was established in 1955 in Lethbridge AB. as a 3 man operation that transported fruit and produce from the Vancouver Lower Mainland, Okanagan Valley, and Washington State to AB, SK, and MB, before the Trans-Canada Highway was built connecting British Columbia to the rest of Canada.

In the late 1970’s H&R was a sizeable niche carrier servicing Western Canada and the NW USA, with an industry reputation for outstanding service, quality equipment, and a strong desire to serve the temperature controlled sector. Southern Alberta being the major beef producing region of the country, and H&R being located in Lethbridge, it purchased a meat carrier and expanded its temperature controlled expertise to include transporting fresh hanging and boxed beef to markets throughout Canada and the USA.

In the early 1980’s the transportation sector in the U.S.A. deregulated and shortly thereafter the NAFTA agreement between Canada and the USA was signed, suddenly creating new demand and opportunities for transportation throughout North America.

In the early 2000’s, H&R’s industry reputation and temperature controlled expertise developed another major growth initiative in the intermodal temperature controlled sector. Today it is positioned as the largest refrigerated intermodal service provider in Canada, complimented with a sizeable, highly reputed, over the road refrigerated fleet throughout Canada, the USA and Mexico.

We have stayed true to our strengths and expertise and continue our focus to remain specialized in the food and beverage category throughout North America.
